I can’t stress enough how important it is to get family photos taken.  In fact, my own family does them 2-3 times a year! Some may be wondering why you would need that many photos but there is good reason, at least for me.  My daughter is my first thought, always.  What if something happened to myself? Would she have those memories to look back on? What about her daddy? Considering the career he has choose, this is a pretty reasonable question.  What IF something happened to him? What IF we didn’t have these photos taken a few times a year or even yearly for her to remember her daddy by.  God forbid something ever happen to my sweet angle, but you are never promised tomorrow.  I would rather take the time to have these special memories captured than regret not doing so at a later point.

As you grow older, your memory fades.  I want to be able to look back at a photo and remember my daughter and my husband at that exact moment in time.  To remember my daughter playing, laughing, and even crying.  To remember how her hair looked blowing in the wind and that big, beautiful, contagious smile. I want to remember the way my husband looks at me, always.  Those beautiful hazel eyes and that smile that still, after 4 years, gives me butterflies.  Without capturing these things and printing them, it’s hard to actually recall those little details as the years go by.

For all of those mommas and daddy’s that tell themselves, “After I loose 10 lbs”,  or, “maybe in a few months because x, y, z”, I just want to tell you not to wait.  You are so beautiful the way you are and your children don’t care about how much you weigh or what you look like.  They care about the love you give them.  They care about you spending your time playing with them.  When they grow up, all they will care about is having those photos to look back on and to remember a time in their lives they may not ever be able to recall.  So please, take the photos and take them now!  Remember: “Never forget yesterday, but always live for today, because you never know what tomorrow can bring or what it can take away.”

My amazingly talented BFF Rae Coale of Rae Marshall Photography captured all of these beautiful memories for my family and I. She captured all of our little quirks perfectly!
