First off, let’s talk about this fall weather!  I’ve been dreaming of all the fall colors, big grassy fields, beautifully backlit sunset pictures where the sun actually sets behind some gorgeous trees… for months, and quiet possibly more than a year. Hawaii was amazing and I know everyone thinks my family is quiet insane for leaving but honestly, the Midwest is home and totally makes my heart so happy. Here is a look into my first maternity session in the midwest!

I’ve known Lindsay for many years now.  Actually, she was one of my best friends in high school!  I loved having the chance to meet back up with her years later and to photograph such a big milestone in her life.  There is nothing that I adore more than seeing friends start new journeys of their own, especially one I can relate to quiet well- Motherhood.

I asked Lindsay how she felt when she found out she was pregnant and if it has changed over the course of the past 40 weeks.  Her reply, “disbelief”.  Her and Brody both knew they wanted a baby but they were just waiting for things to fall into place in their lives. They were two weeks into the remodel of their very first home and both settled into their new jobs/promotions when they found out they were expecting.  Lindsay said they couldn’t believe everything that they were dreaming of just a year before was actually unfolding right before their eyes.  40 weeks later and they still both sit in disbelief.

Pregnancy has done wonders for Lindsay’s skin and hair which is what she likes best but the back pain has got to be what she enjoys least.  With being naturally flexible and a yoga teacher, she thought she’d have the upper hand. Apparently there is such thing as joints being too flexible which is the worst for a pregnant woman’s back/hips.

I had to know what cravings Lindsay has had because it baffles me how different every women is!  I, myself, craved sandwiches, watermelon, and cherry tomatoes.  Lindsay says she went through phases of cravings. Donuts, Egg rolls every day for about a month, and so much fruit and pickles! Pickles and tomato sandwiches!

I am so unbelievably happy for this sweet family and can’t wait to see them welcome their first baby girl into this world!  I can’t wait to meet her, oh, and find out her name since they are still a little undecided!  Check out the highlights from Lindsay’s maternity session below!
